The sport of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is complex, our intro program helps break down all the essential concepts of the sport making it much easier to pick up for anybody. HBJJ Fundamentals Program is designed to teach the overall Self-Defense strategy of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The class begins with a pre-workout involving many body weight exercises and it will teach you the basics, from learning how to fall, to clinching, taking down and successfully setting up and applying a submission hold as well as various escapes. We provide a detailed instruction in wrestling, judo, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as they are all relevant to master the sport. The class ends with positional training which helps students focus on the lesson of the week and get a feel for live training. This technique repetition filled stage of your training will slowly prepare you to begin drilling at a full resistance in the following program.
After a period of time you have a better understanding on this martial art, the student will be able to attend the Adults All Levels Program, in paralell the student will be still able to continue the Fundamentals Program.The pre-workout increases in intensity and the class is 30 min longer allowing for more training time. Jiu Jitsu is a very strategic game similar to chess and this program starts to get into the many key details building on the Fundamentals program. This is the most exciting part of your training. Attempting to submit your training partners as they resist and counter act with their own moves is as real as it gets! You will drastically improve your conditioning, strength and confidence. You’ll drill and work with more experienced students benefiting your learning journey. You will moving up in rank and making a big progress towards mastery of the art.
Students will have the option of joining tournaments and competing in national and international events. The Paragon Brazilian Jiu Jitsu team is currently ranked 4th in the nation by USA wrestling and students looking to compete will be well prepared.
No GI Jiu-Jitsu takes the same approach as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, but without the advantage (or disadvantage) of a uniform to grab on to. The difference between BJJ and submission grappling is in the grips. In the stand-up game, the grips provided by the BJJ uniform allow for many judo-style throwing and submission techniques, while submission grappling take-downs resemble those of traditional wrestling. Grips also come into play on the ground. Where the BJJ ground game is methodical and technical, submission grappling moves tend to be more fluid and fast-paced. We have found that it is best for the student to know the basic fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu in order to properly excel in this class. Without the basic knowledge of Jiu-Jitsu, it can create bad habits with your techniques; having the fundamentals engrained into your muscle memory allows this class to be even more beneficial.
The fastest and most efficient way to take full advantage of Jiu-Jitsu techniques and all its intricacies and details is by taking private lessons. Our Program Director personally designed a curriculum that enables any individual to excel. Classes can also be tailored towards students expectations: self-defense, cardio and/or competition.
After only few private lessons a student will possess the knowledge and reflexes necessary to realistically improve their skills.
