We at HBJJ hope that everyone had a very good and very safe Thanksgiving yesterday!
Now,for all of you who were asking, and those looking to burn off the extra Thanksgiving calories, there will in fact be an open mat tomorrow (Saturday)starting at 12 noon. Happy Holidays!Happy training!

| Hey everyone..just a quick reminder that next Saturday, Nov. 21st, is our Thanksgiving day party! For new students and older students alike, this is a great time to meet some of the HBJJ family that you may not have met yet. Hey guys, if you haven't heard yet, the No Gi World Championships is this Sunday! Good luck to all competitors, you will make us very proud! For the others who are not competing in the tournament, this is a great time to come support your fellow teammates and check out some great BJJ action. The tournament will be held at Cal State Long Beach in the Pyramid. For more info check out www.ibjjf.org. See you all there!

We are very pleased to announce that Lilach Etgar is the official winner of the Los Angeles Food Bank Drive contest. Lilach brought in 110 pounds of food.
We would like to thank all people who brought in food. It really means a lot to us when the school comes together to demonstrate what true martial artists strive for. Not only great techniques, but compassion for our fellow man.

Today is the closing day of the food drive and I am very proud to say that you guys really came through. We have raised over 200 pounds of food for the food bank. The winner will be announced very soon after all the totals have been confirmed.
The three leaders as of now are
Chester Simoni, Armand Rivers and Lilach Etgar.It is still a very close race. Donations will still be accepted until 2:30 today. So come on down and give for this great cause.

Gi World's (Mundials) are next weekend from June 5th-7th. It is a great opportunity for those that new and old to BJJ to see a very popular competition AND to cheer your teammates on!!
WE WILL BE CLOSED JUNE 6th-7th so we should see you down at the fights!!!!!!!!!
Those that are new to the academy may have worked with one of the competitors and the biggest honor you can do is go and support them!!!! We invite you all to wear your HBJJ gear and watch the fights!!!!!!!!!!

Our first HBJJ Tournament!!!! The brackets are up in the academy and we have the medals waiting for the winner who takes all!!!
All competitors are allowed 1 coach of their choice!!
If you are participating and/or helping with tournament please arrive no later than 1:15pm!!
